Another first, for 2 of us!!!

My local cycle shop has for years been hosting a Saturday morning cycle ride with various groups leaving to cover different routes according to ability.

Today I was joined by another gym friend Anne, who has never ridden a road bike & we joined one of these groups & went out over the North Downs again on roads I didn't know existed.  We had a fabulous ride & found a well hidden cafe that the cycle clubs around North Kent seem to know & do a great bacon sandwich!!

I found a new 1.5 mile climb today which was steep all the way & my legs discovered what lactic acid means!!  Fortunately the cafe is at the top, so had a little time to recover

After my operation I have also started running again, not fast & certainly not any huge distances yet, but I am slowly getting there.  I'm aiming to the do the Bromley 10k in January as my first event & will be following a programme to hopefully do this in under an hour.  Well that's the plan anyway

Will winter ever come this year??

I went out with my friend Becky on what should have been a 35 mile ride, but me & technology just don't seem to get on & somehow I managed to load the wrong route on my Satnav & it's fair to say we got lost!!  However this certainly didn't spoil our fun & with the glorious weather we had an excellent ride through the wonderful Kent country side

Is anywhere flat in Kent??

Queen of speed, whizzing past me

I fear that this weather must change at some stage & we will be subjected to snow, well that's what the gloom-mungers on the TV weather say.  Mind you they said some weeks ago that we would be plunged into another ice age???

Hoping to get out on my bike on Tuesday with Sandra & then who knows when the next time will be??

Still summery!!

Well I can't believe this weather, last year at this time we were under about a million feet of snow (journalist licence!)

On Monday Adam & I went out for a little leg stretcher before we went to work.  The rain started but it didn't demish our fun & I felt good having done 30 miles before 10am!!  Sadly work got in the way for the rest of the week

I may move to Holland where it's flat!!

Good news, since my knee op I have actually managed to start running again, not quick & no distances compared to the marathons I had run, but it's a start.

My swimming is also improving & my dear friend Kelly recently brought me a little pressie back from Australia.  Thanks xx

Are these just wrong??

Looking forward to this week, I'm hoping to get out on the bike a little more before the winter finally sets in??

Good news I have stopped smoking.  I went to Cuba in February & after 7 years started smoking again & I am pleased to report that I am now smoke free for the last 6 days.  Not out of the woods yet but getting there
